This is how a band I was in wrapped up Blackberry Blossom. The B part is more rhythmic than melodic and was lilted by all the instruments until the last two Scruggs style measures. It made for an ear catching sound and the transition from the lilt to straight time was neat. Also the A part here is a very simplified pseudo-melodic approach. This does not follow the fiddle melody, but passes well for Blackberry Blossom. The first 3 measures of both halves of the A part are the same forward- backward roll. This is a A part is good for beginners (melodic positions with Scruggs rolls). Hope you enjoy it... Tim Rhodes Tim.Rhodes@vt.edu http://rhodes.cc.vt.edu/~rhodes
